Ugly sweater party. Complimentary drinks. Tea party. ’Tis the season to be festive and this weekend, there’s lots of fun, food events happening around town for your and your children. Savory workshops: Learn about local, humane, sustainable food production at educational sessions co-hosted by White Oak Pastures and Allan Savory, founder of The Savory Institute. Classes begin 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11 and end on Saturday, Dec. 12. Click here to view the full schedule.

Tea party: Children can bring their favorite teddy bear to a tea party with Santa beginning 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 12 at the Ritz Carlton, Buckhead . Storytellers and singers will entertain as children enjoy drinks and pastries, cookie decorating stations and more. The cost is $59 per adult and $52 per child, ages five to 12. Kids eat free: Saturday is a great day to be a kid again. Children will enjoy a free three-course, holiday-inspired menu replete with kiddie mocktails from 12:30-3:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12 at The Melting Pot with a toy donation to the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

Eat. Drink. Dance. Repeat.: The Frye Company Atlanta at Ponce City Market will treat shoppers to toe-tapping holiday caroling event with the band, The Whiskey Gentry while Farm to Ladle warms up shoppers with complimentary hot drinks and house-made cookies. The festivities kick off at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12.

Twinkling lights and nutcrackers: Sometimes it's okay to make light of things. Beginning at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, JCT. Bar & Kitchen will host a very merry holiday lights party. Festivites will include sparkling holiday cocktails, Christmas cookies, live music and a special appearance by costumed cast members from Atlanta Ballet's "The Nutcracker."

Ugly sweater party: Pull your ugliest holiday sweater and get ready for a fashion faux pas party, which begins at 9 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12 at Watershed .
