The long wait is (almost) over -- The Halal Guys is ready to make its Georgia debut, and give out some free food in the process.

The popular New York‘chicken-and-rice cart turned brick-and-mortar restaurant will open at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 28 at 4929 Buford Highway.

The Halal Guys menu features a mix of various American Halal food including beef gyro sandwiches, chicken-and-rice platters and "secret" white sauce.

“After a longer than expected construction process, I’m excited to finally open our red and yellow doors to the public," said Moynul Chowdhury, operating franchisee of the Chamblee location, in a statement. “We couldn’t have picked a more eclectic part of town to open our first location—-it fits us perfectly.”

The first 50 customers at the opening will receive a free entree platter and fountain drink of their choice; the next 200 customers will receive a Halal Guys T-shirt. Opening day will also offer live entertainment from local artists and a raffle featuring various prizes from The Halal Guys.

Though this will be the first Georgia location, the chain has more than 200 stores around the world.

The Chamblee spot will be open from 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Sundays-Thursdays and 11 a.m.-1 a.m. Fridays-Saturdays.
