Team Hidi 3.0 returns for the third year on Sunday, January 25 to The Georgia Freight Depot. The event, which directly benefits The Giving Kitchen, is the only tasting event fundraiser that supports the restaurant industry. Top restaurants such as 4 th & Swift, Local Three, Kimball House, The Optimist, The Wrecking Bar, The Luminary, and Empire State South, among others, will serve tastings and Atlanta's top bartenders will mix up specialty cocktails.

As the largest fundraising event for The Giving Kitchen, Team Hidi supports grant programs for the coming year, such as the emergency assistance program. This program provides financial assistance to those in the restaurant industry who have faced an unanticipated crisis. Last year, The Giving Kitchen helped more than 60 employees in the industry.

More information and tickets for Team Hidi 3.0 are available here.

Team Hidi was created two years ago to support Atlanta chef Ryan Hidinger, who was diagnosed with late stage cancer in December of 2012. He was a prominent member in the restaurant industry who worked at Bacchanalia, Floataway Cafe, Muss & Turner's and the Staplehouse supper club. Although he has passed, his legend lives on.

And if you can't make it to Team Hidi 3.0, you can order a beer for the cause. Sweetwater's "Second Helping" brew is a limited release beer available only in Atlanta, and 100 percent of the proceeds go toward The Giving Kitchen. Sweetwater Brewery delivered three casks around town. The first cask was tapped last week at Muss & Turner's, but there are still more opportunities.

  • 1/13 – Brick Store Pub
  • 1/27 – Cypress Street Beer Geek Tuesday
  • And throughout the month of January, Across the Street is featuring the beer as "Beer of the Month." For each pint sold, the restaurant will donate $1 to The Giving Kitchen and its local efforts.
