Drew Van Leuvan, executive chef and owner of Seven Lamps , and restaurateur Billy Streck ( Cypress Street Pint & Plate  and Grain ) have opened Tavernpointe in the former LPC space in Midtown, near the intersection of Peachtree and Spring Streets.

The neighborhood restaurant debuts for lunch and dinner today with Van Leuvan's takes on "elevated American cuisine" and an atmosphere inspired by classic community taverns.

“We want to sit in the middle of a neighborhood pub and a high-end restaurant,"  Streck said in a press release. “You can come here and enjoy a really special evening of dinner or drinks, but this is also a place where you can celebrate a birthday or special occasion with the entire family. You don’t have to leave the kids at home."

“We wanted to bring Midtown a comfortable neighborhood spot where people don’t have to sacrifice quality,” Van Leuvan added.

The redesigned and remodeled space features repurposed pine from a Georgia warehouse and reclaimed brick from a South Carolina textile mill, and includes a 2,500 square-foot patio and a private dining room with a second bar.

Ongoing hours are: 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday-Thursdays; 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Fridays; noon-11 p.m. Saturdays; 10:30 a.m.- 9 p.m Sundays with a brunch menu.
