I don’t know that it makes much difference how organized you are. Packing a lunch for work is a chore. We’ve found three products that can simplify lunch planning. And they’re so good and easy to enjoy, you may not want to save them for weekday lunches.

There’s tuna, and then there’s tuna. How about tuna for those who value sustainability and knowing where their food comes from? Tonnino packages long slender fillets of yellow fin tuna into 6.7-ounce jars. The source of the tuna is completely traceable. Enter the code on your jar on their website at tonnino.com and you will learn where the tuna was caught. You and the kids will love that. You can use this tuna in any recipe, of course, and it would be perfect in a Salad Nicoise this summer. But we admit we love it right out of the jar. Of the eight flavors, our favorite is the Tuna Fillets with Capers and Garlic in Olive Oil. The tuna also comes seasoned with jalapeno, lemon and pepper, oregano and in other combinations including one packed in spring water. Put a jar in your lunch bag. Done. $7.99 per 6.7-ounce jar. Available at Whole Foods Market, Sprouts and Publix.
Get out of the hummus rut.

Yes, you could pack yet another little container of hummus. Just like yesterday. Just like the week before. Or you can pick up a refrigerated container of soaked, cooked and seasoned beans from The Better Bean Company. Beans are available in eight combinations from Roasted Chipotle Red Beans to Tuscan White Beans. Beans provide protein and complex carbohydrates so adding them to your lunch keeps you fueled all day, and these beans are soaked to help take care of any digestive issues. At home you'll want to turn them into quesadillas, soup or bean bowls. But for work, take a few tortillas and spread them with Cuban Black Beans to make an impromptu burrito, or just enjoy them as a dip for vegetables or crackers. $3.99 per 15-ounce container. Available at Whole Foods Market and www.betterbeanco.com/.
Crackers. You need crackers.

But not just any crackers. Gluten-free crackers made from sprouted seeds (with a choice of four varieties including Everything and Garlic & Herb) or almond flour (with a choice of six varieties including Farmhouse Cheddar and Cracked Black Pepper). These crackers are from Simple Mills, maker of crackers but also of gluten-free muffin mixes, bread mixes, cookie mixes, cupcake mixes and more. The ingredients are all things you’ll recognize like organic sunflower oil and tapioca flour, and we love that they use rosemary extract as their preservative. No mystery ingredients you can’t pronounce. How nice that they're all delicious. $3.99 per 4.25 ounce package. Available at Savi Urban Market, Earth Fare, Target, Sprouts, Sevananda Natural Foods and Whole Foods Market on Ponce de Leon.
