Simple Abundance is an educational and entertaining series of two hour cooking classes with some of Atlanta's best chefs, who strut their stuff at The Cook's Warehouse locations in Brookhaven, Decatur, East Cobb and Midtown/Ansley Mall.

But the best part is that 100% of the ticket price, usually $55, benefits the Atlanta Community Food Bank .

I attended one in August, with chef Billy Allin of Cakes and Ale in Decatur.

The atmosphere was easy-going, with wine tastings throughout, and Allin holding forth on cooking veggies, such as eggplant, and roasting and filleting a whole trout.

Finally, everyone enjoyed what Allin prepared, and waited to see who would win door prizes.

There are only two classes left in this season’s series. But they’re good ones.

September 8 — Chef Steve DiFillippo of Davios and chef Kevin Rathbun of Rathbun's team up at

The Cook’s Warehouse in Midtown to share stories, successes, and lots of great food.

September 15 — Chef Andrew Isabella of No. 246 is at The Cook's Warehouse in Decatur to share tips on seasonal Italian dining and cooking techniques.
