The dining scene is heating up in Brookhaven. A few weeks ago, the group behind Vero Pizza, Haven and Valenza announced it would be opening a neighborhood chophouse . Hudson FC International Sports Pub, or Hudson FC for short, is now open at 4058 Peachtree Road  in the former Pub 71 space in Brookhaven Station. HOBNOB is alive and kicking in Town Brookhaven .

Now comes news that Scott Serpas, chef-owner of Serpas True Food in Atlanta's Old Fourth Ward is opening a barbecue joint, Dixie Q, in Brookhaven. The restaurant will be located at 2524 Caldwell Road, near the intersection with Dresden Drive and next door to Savi Provisions. The space was previously occupied by Slice of Brookhaven pizzeria, which shuttered last fall .

While the restaurant will focus on Southern barbecue, Serpas, who hails from Louisiana, stated that he intends to give Dixie Q some NOLA flavor.

Work on the space has already begun. Serpas stated that he expected the restaurant to open by year's end, although a hiring notice has already been posted on the Dixie Q Facebook page.
