Looking for something new this fall? These restaurants are all on track to open this month or early next month, if they haven't officially opened for business already.
Himitsu -- The side project from the owners of Umi will open just down-mall from that sushi spot in Two Buckhead Plaza and likely will likely appeal to the same mix of stylish Buckheaders and Hollywood royalty camped in Atlanta for film shoots.
Madre + Mason -- The team behind the recently opened Tipple + Rose Tea Parlor and Apothecary and Urban Cannibals, which relocated to Midtown from East Atlanta, is also behind this Latin-Southern fusion restaurant near Piedmont Park. The menu offers up small and large plates and vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free and omnivore options.
il Giallo -- Owners Leonardo Moura and Chef Jamie Adams, both long-time veterans of the Buckhead Life Restaurant Group, are behind this Sandy Springs eatery featuring authentic Italian cuisine. Adams, who previously helmed Veni Vidi Vici in Midtown, plans to use techniques he learned cooking and traveling in Italy, including preparing a variety of pasta, to order, in front of the guests at the restaurant.
Jinya Izakaya -- Masa Hayakawa, the restaurateur behind Shoya Izakaya in Doraville, offers up this sister concept located in the Berkley Heights apartment complex. Hiro Indo, the sushi chef at Shoya, will focus on old-school sashimi, ramen and bar food.
Porch Light Latin Kitchen -- Andre Gomez, the former chef de cuisine at Kevin Rathbun Steak in Inman Park, is behind this spot located in Smyrna Market Village. Menu items will include citrus brined beer can chicken and and cumin spiced St. Louis-style ribs.
Staplehouse -- The Old Fourth Ward restaurant, which functions as a nonprofit arm of the Giving Kitchen, opened its patio and dining room for business on Oct. 2 after a series of soft opening events. It's the first restaurant in Atlanta to use a ticketing system, called Tock. Instead of making a reservation, guests will go online and pre-purchase tickets for dinner, much as they would for a concert or sporting event.
