Here are the stories that made a splash in the Atlanta food world this week.

Chef Todd Hogan has plans to open Prairie American Kitchen in Alpharetta's Liberty Hall, Atlanta Magazine reports. Set to open this summer, the restaurant will open in place of Republic, Hogan's project planned for the same space.

Prairie will serve lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch with a “rustic” menu featuring dishes such as a chef’s choice carving board with prime rib or leg of lamb.

In addition, Hogan plans to turn one his existing Milton restaurant, Indigo, into the more laid-back Duke’s Roadhouse, with dishes including beer-braised brisket with macaroni and cheese.

Hogan also owns Brand & Barrell in Alpharetta mixed-use development Avalon and Branchwater in Cumming.

An effort started by Sarah O'Brien of Little Tart Bakeshop and Paul Calvert of Ticonderoga Club to raise money for the Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services raised $52,695.
