Ticonderoga Club in Krog Street Market and S.O.S. Tiki Bar in Decatur both made Playboy's 2016 list of 50 best bars in the country. Readers can vote for their favorites on the list through Aug. 31. The top 10 list will be released in November.

S.O.S., which opened in November 2015 in the former Paper Plane space at 340 Church St., "looks sweet, but packs a wallop of a good time, (just like its drinks)," writer Allyson Sheppard writes. She encouraged readers to order the Ghost Face Kula, a drink made with 5-year rum, gin, falernum, apricot brandy, orgeat, lime juice, orange juice and Jamaican bitters, served in a skull-shaped tiki mug.

Ticonderoga Club, which has occupied a corner lot at Krog Street Market at 99 Krog St. since it opened in October 2015, is known for both its food (managed by Chef David Bies) and its cocktail program (overseen by Greg Best and Paul Calvert) . Sheppard calls Ticonderoga Club a "nautical-themed townie bar" and recommends ordering the Hootchy Cider Punch, made with French cider and Amer Ticonderoga house bitter.
