Duck Donuts will soon be serving up customizable donuts and fresh coffee in Buckhead and Alpharetta. The Harrisburg, Pennsylvania-based chain is expanding to metro Atlanta this summer.

In Buckhead, the donut shop will be taking over 1,400 square feet in retail center Tuxedo Festival. The Alpharetta shop will open in Old Alabama Square late in May, reported Tomorrow's News Today.

From bacon to blueberry icing to coconut, the menu at Duck Donuts allows customers to choose a coating, a topping and a drizzle from a list of options. The donuts are made-to-order, guaranteeing a warm donut each time.

The chain opened its first location 10 years ago in the Outer Banks of North Carolina when founder Russell DiGilio was on vacation and discovered his morning coffee was missing a fresh donut. The company now has over 100 locations throughout the East Coast but these locations will be the first in Georgia.
