MOD Pizza is opening doors at its new location in Kennesaw today. The restaurant, located at 1945 Cobb Parkway, is the first metro Atlanta location for the popular Seattle-based fast-casual pizza chain.
To celebrate, MOD is offering a free pizza or hand-tossed salad to the first 52 customers in line. Doors open at noon.
In addition, MOD is donating all proceeds from pizza sales today to Covenant House Georgia, which provides shelter and services to Atlanta's homeless youth.
MOD stands for “made on design,” and the restaurant concept allows customers to choose from more than 30 ingredients, with all pizzas being one set price no matter the number of toppings.
The chain opened its first store in 2008 and has about 200 locations in 20 states and the UK. It is planning to open other locations in Georgia as part of a franchising deal with franchise group Southern Pie, LLC, led by Robbie Hill and his daughter, Kimberly Hill Hayden.
