With news revolving around the country's childhood obesity epidemic, schools are working hard to find creative new ways to engage children and enlighten them to seek out healthy choices. Morningside Elementary School is leading the way with their partnership with Schoolyard Sprouts, a Georgia non-profit that has partnered with local food groups and restaurants to educate children about health and wellness initiatives. One of the iconic projects is the school's farm-to-school program, which includes an on-site garden that the elementary school maintains.

Ian Winslade visits the school a few times a year for a cooking demo, where he highlights the seasonal produce in the school's garden with an easy recipe. The last demo of the season was a fresh bounty of spring and summer produce- an heirloom tomato, pea and bread salad with sorrel.
