Manny’s Grant Park Pub will anchor Paces Properties Grant Park development

In early 2016, Paces Properties purchased the Grant Park property at 588 Woodward Ave., at the corner of Woodward Ave. and Boulevard, with long-term plans to add new restaurants and other amenities to the neighborhood.

Now comes word that Manny’s Grant Park Pub, a new bar and restaurant concept from longtime Atlanta barman Manuel Maloof, who is the grandson of the founder of Manuel's Tavern, will anchor the development.

The project, which is taking over the former Stone Soup Kitchen and No Brakes bicycle shop spaces, is expected to open in late spring 2018.

Maloof is one of younger members of the extended family of Manuel's Tavern fame , and besides working there was most recently a server at North Highland Pub.

Maloof, who lives nearby, explained that Manny’s will feature a family-friendly dining room and will be available for private parties.

“I’ve wanted to open a neighborhood ‘go to’ for years,” Maloof said. “I love the area, and for the last eight years, I have lived in Reynoldstown, before that Old 4th Ward and Grant Park before that.

“There has been an incredible need for more family-friendly local gathering spots, and we think Manny's will be that spot for a fun night out for drinks, a hang out to watch the game and a place for a solid meal, celebrations or a private event.”

The bar will feature what’s described as an extensive wine list, 20-plus beers on draft, and house cocKtails, including Moscow Mule slushies. The covered patio area will feature TVs to watch Atlanta sports and a small game room with darts and other pub favorites.

As far as other tenants, Paces Properties recently renewed the lease of long-time Grant Park hair salon, Wright Style, and added a small Jimmy John’s location.

Paces, known for developing Krog Street Market, has invested in several other projects along close-by Memorial Drive, including Larkin on Memorial and Atlanta Dairies.

“It was important for us to continue obtaining key parcels in the area and redevelop existing structures so that neighborhood charm and appeal would not disappear as the nearby Memorial Drive boom began,” explained David Cochran, CEO of Paces Properties in a statement released today.

"We were investing a great deal in the area with Larkin on Memorial and Atlanta Dairies as well as other properties along the corridor and felt we could support the changing face of the area while making improvements to others without taking away from the energy and appeal that brought us to the neighborhood."
