While on Mother’s Day we think of thinly sliced strawberries, bright pops of butter lettuce, and pale pink salmon, we think Dad may want something a little more… masculine. Belly filling mounds of meat and noshes spiked with hot peppers seem like dad’s style. So we scoped out some epic portion sizes and super-spicy dishes that are being served up this Father’s Day.  And be sure to check out what our Bargain Hunter Nedra Rhone rounded up for Father’s Day dining deals.

BIG PORTIONS

“The Monster Burger” looks like the “sword and the stone,” served complete with a knife protruding from the top to keep everything held in place.

What it is: an H&F bun stuffed with three grass-fed beef patties, a sunny side up egg, three fried green tomatoes, bacon, lettuce, and cheese.

“Bomb-ass nachos”, “the Menage a trois”, “fat-ass sampler”- the menu is loaded with guy-talk titles served in epic portions.

What it is: nachos are piled high with spicy queso, chipotle sour cream, jalepenos and black bean puree, while the samplers include brisket, spare ribs, sausage, pulled pork and ¼ chicken.

More than two pounds of “cowboy rib eye steak” is served on a piece of wood that’s worthy enough to repurpose into Dad’s next hardware project.

What it is:  a 34-ounce slab of sliced rib eye served with two sides.

The adult kid’s meal “triple treat” will bring dad back to the drive-in days, only he can enjoy this meal in Del Frisco’s vibrant, buzzing atmosphere.

What it is: a double cheeseburger, fries and a milkshake spiked with nocella walnut liquor, cream de cacao chocolate liquor and vanilla ice cream.

SUPER HEAT

If dad wants his taste buds to be kicked in the butt, he should order “Patrick Swayze” to do it. As stated on the menu, “This is hot like Roadhouse Patrick, adrenaline pumping like Point Break Patrick…”

What it is: a burger topped with ghost pepper salsa and provolone. The rule is, no salsa on the side, and no refunds.

You know when you burn your mouth from hot pizza. That will happen with Il Diavolo, but not from cheese that is too hot.

What it is: The pie is topped with ghost peppers, the hottest peppers known to man. A waiver is required.
