Earth Day might be over, but that doesn't mean learning about ways to be kind to the environment have to dry up.
--Learn how to cut down on food waste during a screening of the Anthony Bourdain-produced film "Wasted: The Story of Food Waste". Paideia urban agriculture community partners will attend and Emory professor Wes Longhofer will speak, and there will also be reception with snacks and drinks from Moveable Feast and Cherokee Moon. --Get your hands dirty at Food Well Alliance's Soil Festival, which seeks to raise awareness of the benefits of using compost to improve soil to grow healthy food. Look for educational workshops on gardening and composting, a children’s corner with garden-based activities and story time, a variety of urban agriculture vendors, a petting zoo and free bags of compost. The event will also offer live music and complimentary farm-to-table food.
