Labor Day weekend cookout in Alpharetta, beer dinner and more in metro Atlanta this week

Two restaurants in Alpharetta will come together to host one big pre-Labor Day cookout. For lots of food and libations, head to a four-course beer dinner. This week, there are several fun, food events happening in Atlanta, so add one or all three of the following activities to your calendar. Be prepared to eat, drink and have a grand ole time.

Thursday, Aug. 31: For a four-course dinner with beer pairings, head to One Eared Stag . The evening will begin with a reception from 6:30-7:15 p.m. followed by dinner and special brews from partner Blackberry Farms Brewery at 7:30 p.m. A seat at the table is $60, and tickets can be purchased here.

Friday, Sept. 1: Chef Andy Long of South Main Kitchen will offer smoked seasonal bites cooked from the Big Green Egg and libations will be available at an outdoor bar during a meal and music night. Georgia natives Wes Yoakam and Luna Searles will entertain guests with cover tunes and more. The Friday fun will begin at 8 p.m.

Sunday, Sept. 3: Labor Day weekend calls for a cookout, and Oak Steakhouse and Colletta will team up to host one featuring an all-you-can-eat spread of chicken, ribs, brisket, pulled pork plus sides including mac and cheese, corn on the cob, beans, potato salad, cornbread and cole slaw. Dessert options will include blueberry cobbler and banana pudding. Kids can opt for corndogs and fries plus snacks from a cotton candy and popcorn machine. Live music and games will round out the event, which will take place from 5-8 p.m. Tickets are $40 for adults and $20 for children 6 – 12 years old; children five and under will be free.
