A neighborhood eatery has opened its doors in the Oak Grove area just in time for the new year.

Kitchen Six, which takes over a space formerly occupied by Lebanese eatery Mezza, is operated by neighbors from North Decatur, with chef Jason Jimenez at the helm in the kitchen. Jimenez previously worked at Muss & Turner's, Canoe and Local Three, as well as Peninsula Grill in Charleston.

The concept for the 60-seat restaurant involves a small menu using locally sourced ingredients. A full bar includes a selection of wines, local beers and cocktails.

The Kitchen Six team also operates Homespun, a private chef and catering service.
