Hector Santiago wants it known that he resigned his chef position at Abattoir. Here's what he posted on his Facebook page a few hours ago:

Saludos Family and Friends !

I want to give y'all the chance to hear this from me first : I have resigned my position at Abattoir as of October 19, It has been a real pleasure working with the Star Provisions and Abattoir family ...I will be missing you All ( specially you Leo Leonardo Iranzo ) but not for long .I will be bringing my food and past concepts that y'all miss in the near future and that's why I need to move on to be able to dedicate more time toward the Renaissance of Conceptos Latinos...stay in touch !

This afternoon Santiago confirmed that he will be opening a restaurant at Ponce City Market, as reported on Eater Atlanta.

"I really couldn't work on this project and work at Abattoir, too," Santiago said, explaining that his original wood-fired Argentinian concept could not be approved for the PCM space, and he was forced to go back to the drawing board.

"I'm working on another concept," Santiago said. "I really want to do something Latin again."

Santiago also stressed that while he's signed a letter of intent, he still hasn't signed a lease at PCM. And as far as he's concerned, what he will do next is still very much in the planning stage.

"I guess I'm doing my own PR now, too," he joked. "But I am Puerto Rican."
