Here are the biggest metro Atlanta restaurant openings and closings and other food and dining food from the past week:
A Latin and American coffee shop has opened its doors near Emory Point in the former Sobban space at 1788 Clairmont Rd. in Decatur. Golden Drops Cafe -- owned and operated by Dominican Republic native Victor Ramirez, offers a variety of traditional coffee drinks using coffee straight from a farm in El Salvador. Ramirez is also working with several award-wining El Salvadoran baristas to perfect the drink-making process.
The cafe will also serve both sweet and savory options from countries across the Americas including Brazil, the Dominican Republic and Mexico, as well as tropical fruit shakes. Ramirez plans to secure a liquor license soon and will start hosting events including live music, dancing, book signings and parties.
The cafe will host an official grand opening party the first weekend in December.
