Gladys Knight Chicken & Waffles is no more.

The iconic restaurant located at 529 Peachtree St. in downtown Atlanta, has changed its name to The World Famous Chicken & Waffles, as revealed in a failing health inspection this week.

The development follows a feud between Knight and the  restaurant's owner, her son  Shanga Hankerson, who was arrested on felony theft charges in June. His employees told investigators  he used the money for sex parties and marijuana , an Atlanta Journal-Constitution investigation found.

In addition, AJC reporter Becca Godwin reports that the restaurant's downtown location is the only one that remains open; a Cascade Road location quietly closed in October and t he restaurant's Lithonia spot closed permanently in August .
