Drink to Dad with these Father's Day booze, beer and wine gifts and events

Things to do

Atlanta distillery tours

If dad is all about eating locally, we’re pretty sure he’s also into drinking locally. Take him on a Saturday afternoon booze cruise around Atlanta’s distilleries. Grab a Lyft and start the afternoon off in Decatur at Independent Distilling for samples of aged and white rum and their signature Hellbender bourbon. Next head over to the Old Fourth Ward to tour and taste your way through Atlanta’s first vodka, gin, and Lawn Dart ginger-lemon liqueur at Old Fourth Distillery. Finally, finish the day in the beautiful tasting room at ASW Distillery with samples of Fiddler bourbon, single malt whiskey and apple brandy. Guided tours include samples and a souvenir bottle of spirits to take home from each distillery. Tour times and prices vary. Check each distillery’s website for individual tour details.

Independent Distilling, 731 E College Ave., Decatur. 678-576-3804, independentdistilling.com.

City Winery's Whiskey With Dad

Celebrate a little early with this whiskey tasting on City Winery's outdoor patio. Beverage director JR Smith will discuss what makes each whiskey’s flavor profile unique, and participants will also be treated to dishes from a Big Green Egg-inspired menu. Admission includes six, one-ounce whiskey pours, food pairings, and a welcome cocktail.

The Southern Gentleman's Father’s Day Bourbon Brunch

During this third annual event, guests will enjoy brunch staples such as New Orleans-style shrimp and grits, a variety of omelets and French toast plus barbecue specials — all a la carte. There will also be a whiskey education session, tasting areas and flight specials inclusive of Beam Family Bourbons (Think Knob Creek, Baker’s, Booker’s and Basil Hayden). Rounding out the festivities will be a caricature artist who will capture dads everlasting good looks.
