Take culinary expedition for brunch this weekend. These metro Atlanta restaurants offer cultural cuisines inspired by traditional South African and Japanese fare as well as classic American comforts like bacon and eggs and burgers.
Yebo: Patrons will want to pop champagne and party since Sunday brunch at this Phipps Plaza restaurant includes bottle service and a live DJ. On Sunday, July 26, Yebo, Purity Vodka and Power 96-1 will partner for a special edition bubbly brunch, which will feature iHeartRadio personality Maddox and DJ Yvonne Monet. While sipping and singing, dine on delectables such as brioche French toast, salmon benedict and traditional South African fare including bobotie crepes and boerewors hash served with red peppers, onions, a sunny side up egg and beef sausage.
Vino Venue: Cheers to brunch! This wine school now offers weekend brunch with menu highlights that include Cid's kickin' chicken salad served in a crispy avocado and sweet peach panini with bacon, triple cream and arugula as well as a summer shrimp ceviche with grilled watermelon and citrus vinaigrette. There's also a strawberry blushie—a blend of frozen white zinfandel, strawberry puree and lime.
Pijiu Belly: Weekend brunch is like a global food tour here. There's rotisserie chicken served with Belgian waffles. A three-meat scramble with Bulgogi marinated beef, Italian sausage, bacon, eggs, spicy fixings and kimchi mustard sauce. And, the Pijuiu burger—a soft fried egg, kimchi, cheese, barbecue sauce and sriracha mayo. To wash it all down, there's bottomless coffee and non-alcoholic ginger beer options plus a collection of cocktails inclusive of a bellini, bloody Mary, Irish coffee and bourbon milk punch.
Doraku Sushi: Chef Todd Dae Kulper's brunch menu takes a twist on traditional Japanese cuisine, making it anything but basic. Guests can indulge bacon and egg ramen, made with crispy bacon, cabbage, grilled onions and peppers plus scrambled or fried eggs; Nagoya fried chicken and soba waffles; and a classic Japanese breakfast featuring grilled fish, sashimi, miso soup, rice, oshinko, tamago and fresh fruit.
There's also several restaurants with select prix fixe brunch options as part of Downtown Restaurant Week, which runs through Sunday, July 26. For more details, click here.
