There are several fun, food events happening in metro Atlanta, so add one or all four of the following activities to your calendar. Be prepared to eat, drink and have a grand ole time. Tuesday, Feb. 28: For its annual Fat Tuesday celebration, Avalon is hosting a Mardi Gras pub crawl from 5-9 p.m. The event includes traditional New Orleans-themed cocktails and special offerings from Goldberg's ($3 Reformation beers and half price appetizers) and Branch and Barrel (street corner-cooked jambalaya and crawfish boil plus hurricanes by the glass). Revelers are encouraged to don their best purple, green and gold costumes and festive gear too.

March 1 – 3: Nakato Japanese Restaurant will celebrate the Year of the Rooster and the traditional Japanese holiday, Girls Day, by offering free meals to all children under 12.

Saturday, March 4: Head to Piedmont Park for Park Tavern 's annual oyster crawfish festival, which begins at 2 p.m. The event will feature all-you-can-eat fresh crawfish, oysters and shrimp; cocktails; cold brews; and music performances from Gurufish, Atlanta Brass Connection and headliner Cowboy Mouth. Tickets are $15 each and can be purchased here.

March 4 – 5: As part of its first anniversary celebrations, Drift Fish House & Oyster Bar will offer Oyster 101 chef demonstrations from 2-3 p.m. Chef and owner Doug Turbush along with sous chef William Puryear will teach guests about oysters, oyster farming, oyster etiquette and how to pair oysters with wine and beer. Participants will enjoy a selection of raw oysters, oyster hors d' oeuvre and sparkling wine. Tickets, which are $25 per person, can be purchased here.
