The Atlanta Braves are more than a year away from moving into their new digs at SunTrust Park , but an option for pre- and post-game entertainment and food is already set to open.

The Cosmopolitan Live Kitchen and Bar concept will launch March 18 at 2475 Delk Road SE in Marietta, about a five-minute drive from the new stadium. The space has been home to Cosmopolitan Restaurant for the past few years, but owner Johnny Esposito, Jr. said the new concept will focus on food and drink in addition to being an entertainment destination for the area.

"They're revitalizing the area, and we really want to grow with it," Esposito says.

To that end, Esposito has stacked his first few Friday night with local and national touring acts as varied as Bon Jovi tribute band Slippery When Wet, country singer Bryan White and rock group the Mike Veal Band, as well as variety shows and dueling pianos. On Saturdays, Frank Ski from V-103 will DJ dance parties.  At the end of March, Agatha's murder mystery dinner theater will begin hosting shows in the space.

The upscale bar menu will feature a variety of appetizers, salads, burgers, sandwiches and entrees including grilled Norwegian salmon, eggplant parmesan and fish and chips. The full bar will offer a variety of cocktails, and Esposito is hoping to partner with local breweries to offer Atlanta-brewed beer.

Esposito, who plans to open the bar for lunch, dinner and late night seven days a week, has long been connected to the restaurant and bar industry in Atlanta -- he opened Buckhead Tavern in 2014 (though he's no longer affiliated with the bar) and previously owned Esposito's Ristorante in Duluth. His father, Johnny Esposito, Sr. , founded bar and dance club Johnny's Hideaway, now owned by Chris Dauria .
