Food & Wine recently named the "Best Chocolates in the U.S." and guess which Atlanta chocolatier made it on the list?

Food & Wine touts Cacao's owner, Kristin Hard, for using only dark chocolate in her confections, that range from bean-to-bar chocolates to chocolate faux salami and hot cocoa. Hard has spent years studying the cacao bean, its nutritional benefits and the process on making chocolate from bean-to-bar, and she travels abroad to source beans directly from farmers.

Cacao was listed with 33 other chocolatiers including Vosges, Godiva Cake Truffles, Theo, Lindt and Mass Brothers.

You can find Cacao's boutique in Virginia-Highland: 1046 N. Highland Ave., Atlanta. 404-892-8202, cacaoatlanta.com.

A new location will open in Buckhead Atlanta in March, and the chocolates are also available to purchase online.
