Booze and books, all-you-can-eat low country boil and more in metro Atlanta this week

Booze and books tonight at Ponce City Market. All-you-can-eat low country bowl in Sandy Springs this Saturday. There are several fun, food events happening in Atlanta, so add one or all four of the following activities to your calendar. Be prepared to eat, drink and have a grand ole time.

Tuesday, July 18: For books and booze, head to City Winery Atlanta at Ponce City Market tonight for the second book club meeting held in partnership with Posman Books from 7-9 p.m. This month’s novel is “Big Little Lies” by Liane Moriarty and will include refreshments like the Big Little Wine Flight of sauvignon blanc, rose and petite syrah.

Thursday, July 20: Doc Chey’s Noodle House  and  Dragon Bowl  will celebrate National Fortune Cookie Day with a variety of giveaways found in special fortune cookies. Diners will have a 100-percent chance to win free food and two chances at each restaurant location to win a JBL Flip 4 Waterproof Bluetooth Speakers ($100 value).

Saturday, July 22: Summer soiree. Take a tour down to Louisiana while in Atlanta for a low country boil that will feature all-you-can-eat crab, shrimp, sausage, potatoes, onions and corn plus two Abita brews at Taco Mac Prado’s patio from 12-6 p.m. Tickets are $30 for a limited time.

Sunday, July 23: James Beard-nominee and Atlanta pop-up professional Jarrett Stieber of  Eat Me Speak Me  will team up with  two-time James Beard Award-nominated chef and pitmaster Elliott Moss of Buxton Hall in Asheville, NC for a night of never-before-seen dishes from each chef from 5 p.m. until the food runs out. In addition to the food, an experimental and innovative American Black Ale, one of only eight kegs, from Creature Comforts will also be available exclusively to guests.
