A family-friendly restaurant and sports bar has closed its doors in Roswell after just more than a year in business.

BoneYard Kitchen & Tap closed earlier last week at 12050 Etris Road, in a space previously occupied by Blue Agave Mexican Bar & Grill.

Owner Ryan Bing told the AJC that unexpected family issues and the restaurant became too much for him and that he “needed a healthy change” is his life.

“The community, people and families and friends were amazing during my time and I can't thank them enough. It was just time for a change and needed to get myself put back together,” Bing said.

The restaurant opened in spring 2018, offering a wide variety of wings and burgers as well as sandwiches known as "hand helds" and entrees. There were also more than 20 beers on tap.

In 2022, Georgia Power projected its winter peak electricity demand would grow by about 400 megawatts by 2031. Since then, Georgia has experienced a boom of data centers, which require a large load of electricty to run, and Georgia Power's recent forecast shows peak demand growing by 20 times the 400-megawatt estimate from just three years ago.
