Creative, controversial and still growing, Scofflaw Brewing Co. celebrates its 3rd Anniversary on Saturday, with "baby goats, another dunk tank," and more than 35 core and experimental beers on tap.

Also part of the festivities, the company’s 3rd Anniversary Barrel-Aged Stout, first experimental barrel-aged sour, a limited number of Hazy IPA Anniversary collab six-packs, and food from DAS BBQ and Oysters Co.

So in honor of three crazy years of Scofflaw, one of its mildest offerings, Jay Walker India Pale Ale, is this week’s Beer Pick.

Scofflaw Brewing, Co., Atlanta, GA

Available on draft and in 6-pack 12-ounce cans

Profile

Not exactly a buzz beer in any sense, Jay Walker is Scofflaw's mildest core offering. The bright, 4.9% alcohol IPA, is brewed with a trinity of Simcoe, Amarillo and Cascade hops, giving it a classic combo of floral, zesty citrus, and dank pine aromas and flavors.

Scofflaw declares Jay Walker “light in body, but not in flavor.” With its relatively low alcohol content, it’s an easy choice as a session beer, and a good match for pub grub.

Scofflaw recommends pairing Jay Walker with cheeseburgers, cold pizza, and chicken wings, which seems to fit the company’s ethos.
