Foodies across the country are about to get a taste of how spicy Atlanta can . Four local restaurants will be featured on tonight's episode of Cooking Channel's "Taco Trip," which is a show about -- well, we'll give you one guess. Host Aarón Sanchez, a chef who owns several high-profile Mexican spots in Baltimore, New Orleans and Connecticut, will visit The Original El Taco in Virgina Highland, will eat wild boar at Bar Taco and chorizo at Alma Cocina and make a stop at Taqueria Del Sol, where he'll make tamales from scratch with chef/owner Eddie Hernandez.
While it's always excellent to see local places getting national love, it would have been great to see the show make a stop on Buford Highway, or an off-the-beaten-path hole-in-the-wall. Maybe next time?
The show airs at 10 p.m. EST on the Cooking Channel, with repeat airings at 3 p.m. tomorrow, 2:30 a.m. and 10:30 p.m. Oct. 20 and 2:30 a.m. and 10:30 p.m. Oct. 24.
