Less than a month after announcing its executive chef , 5Church has set an opening date.
The restaurant is set to open its doors at 1197 Peachtree Street NE in Midtown’s Colony Square next Friday, June 24.
It will be 5Church's third location, with existing spots in Charlotte and Charleston.
The menu, created by executive chef RJ Cooper and partner Jamie Lynch, features modern American dishes made with locally-sourced ingredients.
Dishes exclusive to the Atlanta location include charred octopus with red pea hummus, lemon and pea tendrils; roasted whole fish with grilled broccoli rabe, fingerling potatoes, roasted garlic and caramelized lemon; smoked Pekin duck with smoked confit, cabbage pancake, duck egg and spicy plum sauce; and cave-aged cheddar agnolotti with sweet peas, Lord’s country ham and black pepper.
The restaurant also features a 200-bottle wine list, specialty cocktails and craft beers.
Managing partner Ayman Kamel moved to Atlanta with his family in order to operate 5Church, which was named for its original spot at the corner of 5th and Church Street in Charlotte. He said touches have been made to ensure the Atlanta location stands apart from the other two.

“We want our guests to know they are eating in Atlanta when they are in our Midtown location,” he said. “That is why we’ve gone to great lengths to feature Atlanta-inspired artwork and source locally for nearly everything from farmers and purveyors to general contractors and servers."
The neo-Victorian décor will feature black leather banquettes, chandeliers and large-scale artwork inspired by Atlanta and created by local artists such as J.D. Koth and William Massey. The restaurant’s hand-painted ceiling by artist Jon Norris displays Sun Tzu’s “The Art of War."
The space seats 180 guests downstairs in the main dining room with additional seating available on the sidewalk and rooftop patios, as well as private dining areas.
The restaurant is only serving dinner for now, but plans to branch into lunch and weekend brunch service later.
