Nationally acclaimed artists will compete for cash and a trophy at various metro Atlanta attractions in April.
Piedmont Park, Atlanta History Center, the city of Decatur, Olmsted Liner Park and The Shops Buckhead Atlanta are among the locations where artists will set up their easels and paint during the six day Olmsted Plein Air Invitational. In many cases, art will be available for purchase directly off the easel once they're completed. The competition will take place April 2-9.
Even if you've frequented sites such as the Atlanta History Center, this is a great way to experience local attracions in a new way.

Many of the events such as the ones at Piedmont Park and in Decatur are free and open to the public, but there are some events that are ticketed.
Among the ticketed events, The Shops Buckhead Atlanta will host an Artist Mingle party. Located between two Buckhead art galleries, the event will feature a silent auction, flower market, live music, snacks and cocktails, and more. Admission is $100.
