Dry night ahead of a rainy weekend

It’s still warm outside, but the clouds could bring a cooler Friday night.

Expect lows in the mid 60s about 9 p.m. with no showers, according to Channel 2 Action News.

The next opportunity for rain is a 40 percent chance Saturday.

And when it rains, it pours.

There is a 70 percent chance of rain Sunday with highs still in the 70s for the weekend.

Showers should continue into next week.

The good news is by mid-week it will start feeling a lot like spring with temperatures nearing the 80s.

Current temperatures are 72 degrees in Atlanta, 63 in Blairsville and 73 in Griffin.

The pollen count Friday was 816 particles of pollen per cubic meter of air, which is in the high range, according to Atlanta Allergy and Asthma.

The count this time last year was 2,759, and last year’s season high was 4,107.
