And it’s only getting colder overnight, Channel 2 Action News Chief meteorologist Glenn Burns said.

The average high is 72 degrees this time of year. Currently, it’s 63 degrees in Atlanta.

“A lot of you have been asking for that cooler weather and you’ve got it,” Channel 2 meteorologist Brian Monahan said Tuesday. “Actually, the next couple of mornings are going to be chilly.”

Lows are forecast to reach 48 Wednesday and 49 Thursday, Channel 2 reported. The last time Atlanta saw temperatures in the 40s was May 6.

Highs are expected to hit 72 degrees Wednesday and 75 degrees Thursday.
