Thought pollen levels were high Tuesday? Think again.

Wednesday’s pollen count nearly reached 2,000 particles of pollen per cubic meter of air.

According to Atlanta Allergy and Asthma, the pollen count shot up from 1,549 Tuesday to 1,948 Wednesday. Both are in the “extremely high” range.

The count this time last year was 670, and last year’s season high was 4,107.

Experts warned that as temps increased, so would pollen.

“We're instructing our patients who have pollen allergies to start their preventative medication now to make sure that they are controlled,” Dr. Stanley Fineman told Channel 2 Action News last week.

Less than a week after the warning, temps hit 86 degrees Tuesday, breaking the previous record of 84 degrees set in 1948, according to Channel 2.

Highs are expected to reach 71 degrees in Atlanta, 62 in Blairsville and 69 in Griffin Wednesday, the television station reported.
