Metro Atlanta has been gifted one last beautiful day before the return of showers and storms.

The temperature is 81 degrees and the humidity is low, according to Channel 2 Action News.

“Bottom line is we’re going to have really no change in our weather over the next few hours other than our temperatures will continue to warm just a bit,” Channel 2 meteorologist Brad Nitz said.

Rain chances shoot up to 60 percent Thursday, when stray showers are possible in the morning and storms are expected about midday.

“I’m not too much worried about enough rain to negatively impact the morning commute (Thursday),” Nitz said. “I don’t expect that to be the case.”

However, showers are expected to pick up between 2 and 4 p.m. that day, with storms kicking in by 8 p.m., he said.

That could be good news for Lake Lanier, Channel 2 reported. Despite last week’s showers, water levels at the popular lake are low.
