A severe thunderstorm warning issued for Carroll, Coweta, Douglas and Fulton counties expired at 7:30 p.m., according to Channel 2 Action News.

Storms brought hail and intense lightning during the evening commute Tuesday, but that weather is moving southwest out of the area, Chief meteorologist Glenn Burns said.

Partly cloudy skies are expected through midnight, Burns said.

The temperature is 78 degrees in Atlanta .

Wednesday morning is expected to stay dry, with temperatures in the mid 70s.

Morning sunshine is expected to give way to afternoon thunderstorms and a high of 91 degrees.

By Wednesday night there is a 30 percent chance of isolated showers.

While rain chances will fluctuate the rest of the week, temperatures are expected to hit the 90s each day through Thursday.

There is little relief in sight until a weekend front is expected to bring showers and “slightly cooler” weather to metro Atlanta, Channel 2 reported.

Highs are forecast to drop from the 90s Thursday to the upper 80s Friday.
