"Romantic February" getaway along the Georgia coast

Eagle Island, located off of the Georgia coast, invites guests to an exclusive stay at the luxurious Eagle Lodge. There's no traffic, no noise – just a mild breeze from the ocean.

Whether it's just the two of you or a couple of families (the lodge sleeps up to 12 guests), host Captain Andy Hill will tend to the service and the details.

Enjoy total privacy in the wild beauty of untouched marshland surrounded by pristine waterways. Rise early to catch the sun come up or explore the coast before dinner with a kayak adventure. Or, indulge with a sleep-in and enjoy a fire indoors or out. From the wrap-around screened porch with a swinging couch, hammock and a hot tub Jacuzzi -- watch for American bald eagles.

The entire lodge is priced at $400 weekday; $500 weekend and $2,500 weekly for two persons. Nightly rates rise $100 on weekdays and weekends for up to 12 persons sharing the lodge. Weekly rates for 12 persons are $2790.

On stays during "Romantic February," guests will enjoy a fresh flowers, a bottle of wine or champagne, candles, an Eagle Island cap, a Private Islands of Georgia tote bag, BBQ sauce and a Coastal Georgia Guide to wildlife, boating, island facts and adventures

More than half of the lodge's total 3,343 square feet of space is comfortably climate-controlled. The 1,500 square foot screened porch has a hot tub and fireplace. The lodge (pet-friendly) features two luxurious full baths, a fully-equipped chef's kitchen, a dining area with a stone fireplace, a vaulted ceiling great room with leather and teak furnishings, a playroom with bunk beds, game tables, laundry facilities, WiFi and more.

As the only guests on the island, accessible only by boat, Captain Andy provides round-trip boat transportation from Darien, Georgia and a customized vacation right down to the food, activities or any special request that you may desire.

The drive time from Atlanta to Darien is five hours; one hour from Savannah and 90 minutes from Jacksonville.
