Home of former UGA, Falcons player back in shape

The home of former UGA and Falcons player Steve Herndon was hit by lightning in June 2007. He and his wife, Heather, have had all the damage repaired and are enjoying their Dacula home.

China that once belonged to Heather Herndon's grandmother is displayed in the green dining room. The dishes were saved from the fire.

Heather's wedding bouquet is framed in a three-dimensional glass frame on the coffee table of the formal living room. The couple have been married six years.

In 2004, the Atlanta Falcons offensive line, including Steve, was awarded this Offensive MVP trophy made of glass.

The basement bar/kitchen offers loads of counter space, creating a good spot for entertaining.

The couple met when they attended UGA. (This is the view from the home gym into the pool table area.)

The home gym boasts plenty of equipment. Asked about his football career, Steve says, "I miss the competitive camaraderie. I thought that's who I was, but that's just a part of me."

Back upstairs, the light plays off the wall in the foyer.

This guest room was the one destroyed in the lightning strike.
