Atlanta United will remove Zach Loyd's roster spot, clearing the way for the acquisition of Bobby Boswell from D.C. United. The mechanism used to create Loyd's spot will likely be announced soon.

Loyd, 30, was acquired by Atlanta United in the expansion draft after being left unprotected by Dallas. After recovering from an injury, Loyd made just one appearance in the first half of the team’s 3-2 win over Charleston in the U.S. Open Cup.

All of Atlanta United’s 30 roster spots, including its 20 senior roster spots, were full.
