Comment: After surrendering 10 eagles Thursday, the hole toughened some Friday, giving up only two eagles, but it still ranked as the fourth-easiest hole. Dustin Johnson and Tiger Woods had trouble with third-shot approaches that found the water. Johnson made double bogey after a drop; Woods made bogey after his drop. Woods' play was particularly difficult. He tied for the lead, and his approach hit the pin on the fly and darted backward into the pond fronting the green. Ernie Els earlier in the day made eagle with a chip from the back edge. Els said: "You'll see some fun and games there today. They have the flag on a more difficult spot; the wind's into us, and then guys are going to, the aggressive guys, are still going to try and go for it. But I think that you're going to see some numbers there today because the wind's gusting into us."
