What the top 10 NFL Draft picks will make

A look at the rookie salary scale for the top 10 picks in the 2014 NFL Draft.

Forbes estimates that based on the NFL Rookie pay scale, Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel’s fall to the Cleveland Browns cost him more than $10 million over his contract. As Cleveland's second pick (22nd overall) Manziel will likely have a four-year deal estimated at $8.2 million. How much less is that than the 10 players taken first?

As the 10th overall pick of the 2014 NFL Draft, North Carolina tight end Eric Ebron will make an estimated $12.2 million over the next four seasons with the Detroit Lions.

The Minnesota Vikings selected UCLA linebacker Anthony Barr with the 9th overall pick in the NFL Draft. He will likely maker $12.7 million in his rookie contract.

The Cleveland Browns dropped five spots in the NFL Draft order, trading from 4th to 9th. They then swapped picks with Minnesota and moved to the eighth spot to select Oklahoma State defensive back Justin Gilbert. The moves saved Cleveland some cash, but will still likely pay Gilbert $12.8 million in his rookie contract.

With the 7th pick in the NFL Draft, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers selected wide receiver Mike Evans, of Texas A&M. Evans' rookie contract will likely top out at $14.6 million.

With the 6th overall pick, the Atlanta Falcons selected Texas A&M offensive lineman Jake Matthews. Matthews' rookie deal is likely to be about $16.4 million.

Buffalo defensive end Khalil Mack was the fifth overall pick by the Oakland Raiders. Mack's rookie contract will likely be worth about $18.6 million.

Clemson's Sammy Watkins was drafted by the Buffalo Bills, who moved up five spots in a trade with the Cleveland Browns to take the wide receiver with the No. 4 overall pick in the NFL draft. The move up puts Watkins' rookie contract about $19.9 million.

As the 3rd overall pick of the NFL Draft, by the Jacksonville Jaguars, Central Florida quaterback Blake Bortles will make an estimated $20.6 million in his rookie deal.

As the 2nd overall pick in the NFL Draft, Auburn offensive lineman Greg Robinson by the St. Louis Rams is estimated to make more than $21 million in his rookie contract

As the top overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney is likely to make more than $22 million in his rookie contract with the Houston Texans.
