The Bow Tie Chronicles: Teams don’t always honor contracts, why should players?

Falcons, like most teams, always have salary cap casualties

The Atlanta Falcons opened their mandatory minicamp Tuesday without Julio Jones, one of their most important playmakers. Falcons general manager Thomas Dimitroff said the team was informed Monday that Jones would not be present when the three-day minicamp began.

In the 61st episode of The Bow Tie Chronicles Podcast, we look at Julio Jones' offseason contract holdout. We also discuss the team’s upcoming USO trip, Ryan Schraeder, the Falcons available salary cap space ($7.2 million) and the salary numbers at the wide receiver position.
