Even the NFL’s Most Valuable Player needs a little time away with his wife and ... another NFL quarterback?
According to TMZ.com, Falcons QB Matt Ryan is in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico with his wife, Sarah, and one of his best buddies, Detroit Lions and former Georgia Bulldogs star Matthew Stafford.
Stafford’s wife, Kelly, is pregnant and did not make the trip.
Sarah Ryan posted a photo of the trio on Instagram. Kelly Stafford commented on it, saying: “Loving everything about this picture except for the fact that I’m not in it and stuck in Michigan.”
Ryan led the Falcons to an 11-5 record, playoff wins over Seattle and Green Bay and the franchise’s second Super Bowl appearance. He was named the NFL’s Most Valuable Player but the season had a sour ending when the Falcons blew a big lead in the Super Bowl and lost to the New England Patriots just eleven days ago.
After the game, Matt Ryan posted on Twitter: “We came up short last night and my heart hurts for you Atlanta.”
