Other than the growing stakes of his football team and academic life, the 3-star senior from Douglasville, Ga. doesn't think college will be much of a change. Looking past graduation and when he steps enrolls early at Tech in January, Askew is most excited about participating in workouts with his new teammates.

“At playoff time, win or lose, I’m going to be happy,” Askew said. “I don’t think I’ll be one of the ones that will cry or anything. I’m excited to go to college and start a new level. I’ve done so much in high school, I feel like it’s time for me to go to college and explode.”

As he does every week, Askew will be matched against Marietta’s best receiver, a responsibility he loves.

“Whoever their best receiver is, I have him all day and I just take him away from the game,” Askew said. “I like that our coaches have that trust for me that I can go ahead and catch him.”
