Georgia Tech extended an offer for 2021 to Sandtown Middle School point guard Raven Johnson on Sunday after the Yellow Jackets’ 52-45 win over Georgia.

Johnson, a 5-foot-7 eighth grader, attended the Yellow Jackets’ win over Georgia on Sunday and received her first collegiate offer from Tech coaches after the game.

“It is something that I am very thankful for,” Johnson said. “The saying is true, ‘Hard work pays off.’ I put in a lot of time and hard work in the gym. This is like a dream come true as a eighth grader. I just have to keep working and progressing and believing that all things are possible.”

Johnson announced her offer from Tech in a Twitter post on Sunday evening.

From Atlanta, Ga., Johnson plays point guard for Sandtown and the Finest Basketball Club (FBC) — her year-round travel team. Tech 2017 basketball commit Taja Cummings also plays for FBC, according to Johnson.
