Georgia Tech left guard Parker Braun was named to ESPN's true freshman All-America team, a deserving accolade for his play on the Yellow Jackets offensive line this season. The team was released Monday morning.

Braun played his way into the starting lineup in the fifth game of the season and started the rest of the way. An aggressive run blocker and capable pass blocker, Braun was named the ACC offensive lineman of the week after the Virginia Tech game, the first Tech freshman to earn the honor. He was also named Tech’s offensive player of the week for the same game.

With his contributions, Tech ranked second in the ACC in yards per carry (5.5) and first in yards per pass attempt (10.8).

Braun was one of the three Tech first-year freshmen to start on the offensive line this season, along with tackle Jahaziel Lee and center Kenny Cooper.
