Jaytlin Askew and Gentry Bonds are high-school prospects no longer. Both players have enrolled at Georgia Tech, which began its spring semester Monday. Both graduated from high school early to enroll at Tech in January.

The early start will enable Askew and Bonds, both cornerbacks, to participate in offseason workouts and spring practice.

Askew was a three-star prospect from McEachern High. He had received offers from Auburn, Clemson, Florida State, LSU, Michigan State and Oregon, among others, and has run the 100-meter dash in 10.8 seconds.

Bonds, from Murfreesboro, Tenn., was also a three-star prospect. Clemson, Duke, Kentucky and Tennessee also offered scholarships to Bonds.

Cornerback Step Durham, quarterback Matthew Jordan and defensive end KeShun Freeman are among Tech players whose early enrollment accelerated their development.
