Jonesboro High guard M.J. Walker, the five-star prospect and Georgia Tech target, will announce Wednesday where he will attend college. Walker, a McDonald’s All-American, is expected to choose between Tech, Florida State, Virginia Tech, Ohio State and UCLA.

He will make the announcement at 11 a.m. at the Jonesboro High gym. Walker’s decision-making process has been lengthy. Of ESPN’s top 100 prospects nationally, Walker is one of only three left who has not signed or committed with a school. ESPN was the first to report Walker’s announcement.

Jonesboro coach Dan Maehlman is in the dark about Walker’s decision.

“I have no idea,” Maehlman said Tuesday. “I have no earthly idea.”

Maehlman said he spoke Monday to Walker, who told him that he’d narrowed his choices down to four choices.

“I go, ‘Which one’s out?’” Maehlman said. “He said, ‘I’m not sure.’”
