Guard Parker Braun, defensive end Antonio Simmons and linebacker Terrell Lewis were named the team’s players of the week for offense, defense and special teams following the Yellow Jackets’ 35-17 win over Pittsburgh on Saturday.

Braun blocked 22 defenders to the ground on 74 plays, helping the Jackets gain 436 rushing yards against the Panthers. He was also named the ACC offensive lineman of the week. Simmons had two sacks, the first multi-sack game of his career, and had additional quarterback  pressures. Lewis had two tackles for the kickoff cover team and was inserted onto the punt team after the Jackets gave up a punt return for a touchdown.

“It’s a step in the right direction,” Simmons said. “I still missed two to three sacks, so I really wasn’t OK with how I played. I got two sacks. I can still play way better than I did.”

Tech's Antonio Simmons has a lofty goal for the season
